Meet Sasha. Sasha is a 7 year old German Shepherd mix. She came to the shelter as a stray so we are unaware of her exact age or what her home life was like. What we do know for sure is Sasha values trust and is quite reserved. She will take time to become comfortable with new people. It is crucial her new owners have time, patience, and will go slow with her to create a bond. She does enjoy human interaction once comfortable. She can become quite clingy to people she trusts and feels comfortable with. Due to this behaviour she might have separation anxiety in the home. For Sasha to feel at ease in her new home with her new family she will need an environment with no children. Sasha must go to a home without any pets. She has shown behavior issues within a home including guarding and possible jealousy. We strongly suggest that future adopters look into getting a professional trainer for Sasha. If you think you're the right fit for Sasha and will provide her with a safe, loving, patient home please come to the shelter! -Sasha's potential adopters must have breed knowledge of a German Shepherd. She also must meet with you at least twice to ensure that she is comfortable with you and is able to create a bond. An Adoption Counsellor will be tagging along during the meeting so they are able to monitor her behavior and it will be up to their discretion whether it is a good match for Sasha.
